One specific aspect I wish to take from Linda’s design work is her use and exploration with driftwood, the piece I wish to make will not as much reflect Linda’s work with jewellery and be more focused on the processes and materials she uses, I started my first conceptual idea which was a sculptural piece. I decided that I wished for my piece to also have a functional purpose, I them started playing around with the ice to create a lighting piece. I then decided to go forward with a hanging pendant light which also is a take on a hanging jewellery pendant in a way which ties Linda’s work in another way.
