Dock Yard

The Dock Yard sign at Port Arthur was a collaboration between Lynda Warner and Red Arrow. Warner used weathering steel that when introduced to the elements produce a thin protective layer of rust.

Using steel allows Warner to create organic strong forms through the malleability of it, as well, paired with this rust it will protection the steel from further corrosion caused by salt water sprays from the sea.

This rust shares the same resemblance to red brick and timber with its earthy browns and reds, imitating the red bricks made by the convicts, and the timber that might be found on those boats.
