Tas Oak is a hardwood produced by 3 trees: Eucalyptus Regnas; Eucalyptus Obliqua; and Eucalyptus Delegatensis. Ironically none are actually Oaks. Tas Oak is a premium Australian hardwood used for both construction and interior applications. It is warm, dense and resilient.
Geoffrey Cameron Marshall’s Glacier range is built with this versatile timber. He uses Tas Oak whenever possible in his lighting range, particularly the Conus series. He creates a 5 layered veneer to bend into his spherical shades.
Australian Design Review has an article on their site called, Forty Thousand Reasons to Choose Tasmanian Oak.
