SCOTT VAN TUIL'S MATERIALS Tim Halley

Tim Halley
University of Tasmania

Materials used in Scott Van Tuil’s product range include:
Timber veneer, Plywood, Solid Hardwood, Sandstone, Brass, Stainless Steel, Carrera Marble, Ceramic, Glass, and Tubular Steel.

Scott works with a broad array of materials selected carefully for functional and aesthetic qualities suited to individual projects. Materials are used respectfully and appropriately across his product range in a manner that celebrates and enhances their qualities.
Scott often choses materials that tell stories, for example, his core collection which references geological core samples whose varying sedimentary layers mark the passing of time.

For AT3 I will seek to apply the same rigour towards material selection and use as Scott.
