Kelly’s use of clay in her practices shows her ability to create foreign and familiar objects using the potter's wheel as a creative tool to produce her work. Kelly also uses a variety of subtle coloured glazes on her work that create a soft display whilst also giving each object a unique identity. Kelly throws with stoneware and porcelain clay whilst also uses other materials in her practice like wood for the backdrop stands, and also the use of a variation of glazes and acrylic paint has been used in her work.
