Tasmanian oak is a very stable and common to find within Tasmania. A type of timber that is meant for building purposes and with a consistent price. Furthermore, through researching a furniture designer and maker Laura Mccusker, I am now even more interested in learning more information about the Tasmanian oak.

I felt really enlightening after finding out the beautiful result that was produced from the wood after it was painted with iron oxide, which can create a more natural colour for the furniture. Moreover, Tasmanian Oak has a long lifespan which is perfect for furniture making that can last for quite a period of time.

I think that is very sustainable as we can cut back for the amount of wood usage for our society.
