The handmaking process of felt yields a fabric renowned for versatility and adaptability, suited to garment making, sculpture and pieces of wearable art. Such expressions are skilfully wrought at the hands of my chosen artist, June Hope. By way of homage to her work I am intrigued to explore if a semblance of felt can be achieved by any other means. Of interest is the outcome of teaming felt with ceramic elements.
Felt is both robust and delicate and worth pondering if it can disguise or even give the appearance of protecting a stable and predictable ceramic object.
